Zesummer Students began with a simple question: what happens to students who have nowhere to go during the long university holidays?
For estranged, orphaned, care-experienced, and otherwise independent students, university breaks can bring uncertainty rather than rest. Without family support, many face housing insecurity, financial pressure, and isolation. Some are forced into expensive short-term accommodation. Others must share student housing with unknown holiday guests as their university becomes tourst accommodation for the summer just to stay housed.

What started as the simple idea of offering a room to a student during the holidays quickly revealed a much bigger problem.
Holiday accommodation is only one part of the challenge.
Most independent students have financially precarious situations. They need to secure employment as soon as they leave university, before they have even received their grades or graduated; before their student accommodation ends.
They need a CV that sets them apart from their peers, which makes them more employable.
We are seeking support from companies, trainers, and anyone who has a skill they can share. We need help with training, paid short-term internships, recruitment consideration, and sponsorship to support students' transport costs for their internships.
