Offer a bed to a student over the university holidays

Help by temporarily hosting a student

Give a student somewhere to call home during the holidays

For many students, the end of term means going home. For independent, estranged, orphaned, and care-experienced students, there may be no home where they can return.

We have stories of UK-based students having to share their accommodation with tourists who are strangers over the summer months. Others face long periods of loneliness, with no fun stories to share once the breaks are over.

Zesummer Students helps facilitate temporary accommodation with volunteer hosts during longer university holidays, giving students a safe and welcoming place to stay when their usual student accommodation may not be available or when they might not want to be alone

Safeguarding measures to protect everyone

Could you offer a room?

You don't need to be able to host throughout the entirety of a holiday period, or even every university holiday. If you have a spare room and could welcome a student for an agreed period, we'd love to hear from you.

Hosts may be based in Luxembourg or elsewhere in Europe, including the UK.

How hosting works

Zesummer Students facilitates voluntary temporary accommodation arrangements between students and hosts. We are not a landlord or accommodation provider, and the hosting arrangement remains between the student and host.

Safeguarding procedures are an important part of the programme.

We will provide more information about the process, expectations, and safeguarding before you make any commitment.

Register your interest as a host

Register your interest and tell us a little about you, where you're based, and when you might be able to offer accommodation.

Registering doesn't commit you to hosting a student.
